How Many Books Are There in the Series of Unfortunate Events?
The Series of Unfortunate Events is a series of thirteen novels written by American author Lemony Snicket. The novels follow the unlucky lives of the three Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. The books are frequently described as “darkly comic” and “wickedly funny”. They are also famous for their numerous twists and turns, labyrinthine plots, and clever wordplay.
The series began with The Bad Beginning in September 1999, and was followed by eleven more novels over the next six years. The final novel in the series, The End, was published on October 13, 2006. In addition to the main series of books, there have also been a number of spin-off books, including an “Allaternative Edition” of The End and a graphic novel adaptation of The Penultimate Peril.
The Baudelaire Orphans
The Baudelaire orphans are the main characters of the entire book series. They are:
-Violet Baudelaire, the eldest, is fourteen when the story starts. She is an inventor.
-Klaus Baudelaire, the middle child, is twelve when the story starts. He is a voracious reader.
-Sunny Baudelaire, the youngest, is an infant who speaks in a fashion resembling telegraphic code. She has sharp teeth which she uses to bite things.

There are thirteen books in the A Series of Unfortunate Events book series written by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler). The first book, titled “The Bad Beginning,” was published in September of 1999. The most recent book, “The END,” was published in October of 2006.
The End
The series of thirteen books came to an end with the publication of The End, in which Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are shipwrecked on an island and must find their way back to the mainland.
