The Summer Olympics
The Summer Olympics are an international multi-sport event held every four years. The 2021 Summer Olympics will be the thirty-fifth edition of the event and are scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan from 23 July to 8 August 2021. It will be the first time that the Summer Olympics will be held in Japan, and the second time that the Olympics will be held in Tokyo, the first being in 1964.
The games of the XXXIII Olympiad, better known as the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, will take place from July 23 to August 8. A total of 339 events in 33 different sports will be contested.
The sports contested at the Tokyo Olympics will be: archery, badminton, baseball/softball, basketball, BMX biking, boxing, canoeing, climbing, cycling (road racing, BMX racing and mountain biking), diving, equestrian (jumping and dressage), fencing, field hockey, football, golf, gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic), handball, hockey (field and ice), judo, karate (individual and team), rowing (canoe sprints and rowing), rugby sevens (men’s and women’s), sailing (windsurfing and yachting), shooting (pistol/rifle/shotgun), skateboarding (street and park), sport climbing , surfing , swimming (freestyle/breaststroke/butterfly/backstroke/individual medley), synchronized swimming , table tennis , taekwondo , tennis , triathlon , volleyball (beach volleyball and indoor volleyball) , water polo , weightlifting and wrestling .
The Olympics are comprised of many different athletes from around the world competing in a wide variety of different sports. The games are categorized into Summer and Winter, with the Summer Olympics having more events. As of 2021, the Olympics will have 33 sports and a whopping 50 disciplines debuting at the Tokyo games! The Winter Olympics
The Winter Olympics are an international multi-sport event that takes place every four years. The first Winter Olympics were held in 1924. The most recent Winter Olympics were held in 2018. The next Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held in 2022.
Sochi will host the XXII Olympic Winter Games, commonly known as Sochi 2014. A total of 98 events in 15 sport disciplines will be held during the Games.
The following is a list of sports that will be contested at Sochi 2014:

-Cross Country Skiing (10 events)

The majority of athletes competing in the Winter Olympics are in their twenties. The median age of athletes at the Sochi games was 26.5 years old, and the mean (average) age was 27.3 years old.
There were a total of 2,858 athletes competing in the Sochi Winter Olympics, representing 88 countries. The United States had the most athletes competing with 230, followed by Canada with 222, Russia with 216, and Germany with 206. A total of six countries did not have any athletes competing in the Sochi games.
