Introduction

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics are now in full swing, and there are plenty of events to keep track of over the next two weeks. Here’s a quick guide to what’s happening on Day 9 of competition.

All times are Eastern.

Women’s Figure Skating
The ladies take the ice for the short program portion of the individual figure skating competition. Yuna Kim of South Korea is the reigning gold medalist, but American skaters Ashley Wagner and Mirai Nagasu will also be worth watching. The short program begins at 10 p.m., with the free skate at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Men’s Skeleton
Latvia’s Martins Dukurs is the favorite to take home the gold in men’s skeleton, but Britain’s Dominic Edward Osman will also be in contention. The event begins at 11 p.m., with two more heats on Wednesday night at 10:45 p.m. and 11:15 p.m..

Two-Man Bobsled
The two-man bobsled event gets underway at 8:05 p.m., with two more heats on Wednesday at 9:50 p.m..

What Olympic Events Are On Today?

Winter Olympics

The 2018 Winter Olympics are currently underway in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Here’s a look at what events are happening today, February 11.

Alpine Skiing
The men’s combined event will be contested today, with the downhill portion in the morning and the slalom in the afternoon. Austria’s Matthias Mayer is the defending Olympic champion in this event.

Biathlon
The men’s 15km mass start event will be held today. France’s Martin Fourcade is the defending Olympic champion in this event.

Bobsleigh
The men’s four-man bobsleigh event will take place today. The German team of Nico Walther, Christian Poser, Francesco Friedrich, and Thorsten Margis are the defending Olympic champions.

Cross-Country Skiing
The women’s 4 x 5km relay event will be contested today. Norway is the defending Olympic champion in this event.

Figure Skating
Today is a big day for figure skating, with both the pairs’ free skate and the ladies’ free skate taking place. Russia’s Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov are the defending Olympic champions in pairs skating, while South Korea’s Kim Yu-na is the defending Olympic champion in ladies singles skating.

Summer Olympics

The XXXI Olympiad, better known as the 2016 Summer Olympics, are currently underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A wide variety of sports are being contested at these games, ranging from track and field to swimming to gymnastics. Below is a schedule of what events are taking place today, August 8th. All times listed are in Brazilian local time (BRT).

4:30 AM – Diving – Women’s 3m Springboard Preliminary
5:07 AM – Fencing – Men’s Epee Individual 1/16 Eliminations
5:45 AM – Football (Soccer) – Women’s Group G Match #2 – USA vs. France
6:00 AM – Gymnastics Artistic – Women’s Qualification Round 2 Subdivision 1-7
